STILL BECOMING

  To the one person that made my 19th year a memorable one, David Adedolapo Obadiah, I love you so much. If I took nothing out of my 19th year, at least I know not to “settle” anymore, and self discovery is not an action or a process. It is a constant cycle/struggle/growth that takes place at certain intervals in life; and this brings me to dropping this bombshell¡ Until January 17th 2027, my blog would be shut down. I wrote for free for over 3 years and now, I have thought to rebrand ’Style De Vie blog’, maybe with a different name, maybe with a different logo, but definitely an entirely different website!😊 But in the meantime, while cooking, I will be closing contracts and landing clients in the writing field. I am still a writer, a full time freelance content writer who is also into social media management (still cooking up more skills for my readers😽).  So, please, if you are looking for any type of writer, or a social media manager, I’m very much available and would lov...

The Comparison Trap - "I'm not good enough for..."

Ngl, for every single person I've come across, I have at one point or the other felt intimidated and looked at them from the very narrow practical perspective of their lives with which I had seen them from. By this statement, I mean every single person I have met😂 so if you're reading this and you know Ify in person, yes, I have at one point 'eyed' you.  The comparison trap could come in comparing yourself with different things belonging to the people around you. It could come in form of wealth, beauty, talent, accomplishment, intellect, success, e.t.c. You Are Not Depressed —You Are Just Sad.

 Alright, folks, let's kick things off! In this 21st century, about 80% of teenagers seem to be voicing concerns about depression , which I find rather amusing. To me, it seems like many of these youngsters are simply feeling down rather than clinically depressed. "They're just upset because they're not getting what they want," I'd say.  As time goes by on my little corner here, I might share some anecdotes about some people in my life. Now, why do I find it amusing when teenagers talk about depression ? Well, in my humble opinion, if the source of your unhappiness isn't family-related, then labeling yourself as 'depressed' might be a bit of a stretch.
