STILL BECOMING

  To the one person that made my 19th year a memorable one, David Adedolapo Obadiah, I love you so much. If I took nothing out of my 19th year, at least I know not to “settle” anymore, and self discovery is not an action or a process. It is a constant cycle/struggle/growth that takes place at certain intervals in life; and this brings me to dropping this bombshell¡ Until January 17th 2027, my blog would be shut down. I wrote for free for over 3 years and now, I have thought to rebrand ’Style De Vie blog’, maybe with a different name, maybe with a different logo, but definitely an entirely different website!😊 But in the meantime, while cooking, I will be closing contracts and landing clients in the writing field. I am still a writer, a full time freelance content writer who is also into social media management (still cooking up more skills for my readers😽).  So, please, if you are looking for any type of writer, or a social media manager, I’m very much available and would lov...

DELAYED GRATIFICATION.

  I will always tell youngsters like me to not be faster than their shadows- I mean, you can but you should not [I don’t know if we understand what I mean]. Between ages 13-18/19, your prior aim should be your personal growth, talents, skills, studies e.t.c. but in whatever you end up focusing on, bothering yourself with the thoughts of how to be in vogue, or how to please a person in the name of a relationship is something that should not be because you are more likely to be distracted from your main focus. For instance, me deliberating on saving up my allowance to get me a laptop or getting me a pair of loafers… My only gain in going for the latter [the pair of loafers] is feeling among and trendy, ignoring or forgetting rather, what it would cost me if I do not get me a laptop soonest. But you know what my gains would be if I went for the former [a laptop]? Not only will I be able to generate the money to get me a pair of loafers but I will also get to feel among one of those gi...

Old Wisdom, New Wounds

  I’m going to tell you a story and I need you to pay close attention to it so you can see the image I’m about to paint.   “A girl lost her dad at a quite young age, right after taking her exams to get into college and she knew right then, that her life had taken a turn for the worse, but not wanting to give up, she took more exams, took up jobs and did everything to beat the unserious child allegations but guess what? A LIMIT THAT FAILED

  “I hope my greeting meets every one of us well. I am Zanni Emmanuel and I count it not only as a blessing but also a privilege to be here to give this speech. I was overwhelmed with utmost joy when photography to slums got an invite to grace this event. It made me feel a step closer, not only to my dream but also the dream of the initiative, photography to slums.   I remember when I got to hear about photography to slums; I thought to myself “why not grab this opportunity and make every use of it you can?” and I can beat my chest to say that I did make a right choice.  Photography to slums has grounded my stand on the belief that “Nothing, not even your limitations can limit you unless you choose to be limited”.
