Lagos Life

I always thought I was a Lagos girl till sometime in December 2024 when I got into a bus that gave me a better and clearer perspective of Lagos, Nigeria.

Yeah, it’s story time this time around๐Ÿ˜‰

So, apparently, my bus stop happens to be one where it is a whole war to find a bus; an affordable one for a student at that. 3 big Sanford buses could legit take a U-turn and would get full even before completing the U- turn, reason being that passengers would have already crossed to enter the bus on sighting it.

Oh well, very unfortunately for me this day, 2 big buses made a U-turn but wasn’t full yet so I decided to go for one of the buses. My flat mate and I got into the bus and decided to lap but this strange guy told us to sit. “No sir, we’re lapping and the conductor knows” was my reply. “Sir, we lap everyday so don’t worry” came my flat mate’s reply before I had even completed my statement but this stranger persuaded us till we gave in…and we did give in because he offered to foot the three seats (tell me why a Nigerian, in this T-pain era especially, would just decide to spend a thousand and five hundred naira on two girls you didn’t know if you didn’t have something under your sleeves).

Fast forward to when we all alighted from the bus and I looked around to thank “my helper “ that morning only to spot him on a bike already. Oh well, I was only checking myself out as I usually do when I alight from a bus but only to find my bag half opened with my phone nowhere to be found!!!๐Ÿ˜ฆ (I wan run mad). I have never racked my head the way I did that morning. “Should I take a bike and go after this guy?” “Should I try finding the bus I entered?”… but how???

Everything felt so… I don’t know because I couldn’t even cry or think or even tell my predicament to anyone and so I just let it all go after waiting for a week, hoping for, I don’t know, a call or something.

Whateverrrr, anyways, lesson learnt already- do not only reject an offer to pay my transport, make sure to… to maybe… I don’t even know but lesson learnt sha

Someone please give me a very good response to give the next person who offers to pay for my transport. Thanks for reading๐Ÿซถ
