You 100, Laziness 0

Okay so laziness happens to be one thing almost everyone must have experienced at one point or the other. While it could be a swing of mood for some, it could be a lifestyle for others. Laziness in my point of view could be seen as a feeling of reluctant or decreased motivation to getting something done.

Whatever it could be, be it tedious or not, once laziness creeps in, it's usually due to a lack of motivation. Mind you, we could mistake laziness for something else as...maybe a brain fog🤷‍♀️ or even tiredness/fatigue😴; and that is why I stated earlier that it would be out of a mood swing. Of course, it's okay to feel lazy sometimes but we shouldn't forget to always take note of ourselves to realize when laziness is turning out to be a habit for us.

Laziness helps with nothing really, well, unless it creeps in at the right time🫵😉 but just to serve as a break from a tedious activity😗.

Growing up in a Nigerian home to be called lazy was or is rather, something I'm really trying to beat down at this point in my life lol. But how do I explain to my Nigerian mother that I am actually not a lazy middle child but I just procrastinate a lot?😭... She'll give me nothing but what I deserve (Nigerians should know what I mean)😂😭.

Laziness births procrastination, though not in all, but most cases. Procrastination is a very bad habit we should try to fight as ambitious humans. I wouldn't want to be going spiritual (reason being that I'd want to respect some opinions🙂👍). Procrastination is something really dangerous to us and we as humans should know and understand that time is not what we can buy.

I see time as the saying: "You can't eat your cake and have it". You can't spend a second and expect to get it back. And that is why we should try our very best to desist from procrastination so we can get things done! Omg! I woke up late for my class and I was meant to be up earlier to get some works posted on my blogspot but I can't give up my class for it so I forfeit my blogspot for my class, promising myself to get it attended to on my way to school. I'm so tired in the bus due to my rush from home that I decided to use my 30 minuites in the bus to "catch my breath"😏, telling myself I'll get it attended to during my free time in school but then I get carried away by my friends and suddenly remembering my to-do list. I promise my self for the last time to post my work once I get home. Well, unfortunately, I get home so exhausted and fall into my bed to continue the loop. Not only was procrastination vivid in that instance but also was laziness; right from my "catching my breath" and joking around with my friends in school. I simply lost or couldn't get the motivation I needed to have my to-do done🫰.

You see, we could always try to overcome laziness by these very few steps I'd be recommending to us:🤏

* First thing is your to-do list: List out all the things you need to do and do not forget to always be realistic about them. It will help achieve and sort them out in time and easily as well.

I can't be a 17 year old having "buying a car this year" on my to-do list. That is nothing but so unrealistic and would only make me pressured for nothing, get exhausted too quick and fall out of plan.

* Have your plan of action: Strategize and know how to go about it. Of course, its normal if you do not happen to flow with it at first but don't feel down when you do not. Instead, since you have a realistic goal to achieve already, just stay focused, optimistic and try everything not to relent.

* Know your strengths and make every and very good use of them. After drawing out your realistic plan, focus on where your strengths are first. This will get you motivated and you will not only surpass your strengths but also work on your weaknesses

* Of course it's alright to get tired sometimes, this is when you should seek help. By this, it doesn't even necessarily have to be in form of a person. Your source of motivation could be anything at all. It could be music, football or yes, even eating—(this is from experience though🌝)

* Also, do not forget to always reward yourself: I'd say we should always take this step in any journey we're on to make us a better person because you sef don try🤭😂🫶. Do not get too carried away with work. Remember, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy🤌.

* Avoid distractions and you'll achieve your goals, I can assure you. In a previous post, I made mention of knowing and understanding the kind of person you are. Now while some would find the last two steps as a way to achieve their goals or a source of motivation rather, others could be distracted by them. I'd say you should stay away from anything you find as  even a slight distraction. Procrastinate your distractions instead!

  5. I haven't read the entire writeup but interestingly, the first four I read drew me into wondering why your writeup is so practical.
Especially when you mentioned here that telling your mom that what you are is not just
    “lazy middle child”.
    And the you were like,
“She'll give me nothing but what I deserve (Nigerians should know what I mean)😂”

It's very beautiful that although you're treating a crucial topic, you're added humour to all of it.
That's what makes your writeup beautiful, educative and entertaining 🔥🔥😊.

I wrote stuff too but yours is on another level of verisimilitude (truthfulness ❤️)
