Premarital Sex
PRE MARITAL SEX✅
FORNICATION❌
Quite a long while ago, I bumped into a post trying to differentiate fornication and pre marital sex๐ It said:
“The Bible said fornication is a sin not premarital sex”
He went ahead to break it down for us saying:
“Fornication is sleeping around especially with random people. Premarital sex can be with only that one partner you love and cherish. The absence of a signed certificate doesn’t make it a sin”
I couldn’t help laughing while putting this down๐. Now๐, whatever it is this person was trying to denote is nothing but wrong; not only grammatically but also religiously or should I say spiritually. While some people would agree to this, I wouldn’t because this is not only a grammatical wrong take but also a spiritual wrong mindset (and I do not stand to be corrected). Let’s look at it grammatically:
Of all sources that I made my reasearch, the only difference I could tell between fornication and premarital sex is that while the former is used in a religious or spiritual context, the latter is used in a moral context. There is nothing more or less to it.
I can remember when I was younger and came across the portion of the Bible that listed the sins against the Holy Spirit. I used to liken fornication to unmarried people and adultery to married people…It doesn’t seem like I was ever wrong. Looking at it religiously/spiritually:
Permit me to digress from Christianity (I’d still address this in a Christ like manner please๐ ๐คฒ). I don’t think there would be any religion that would support sexual immorality and if there happen to be any, definitely not Islam.
Coming across Surah An-Nur 24:2:
“The (unmarried) woman or (unmarried) man found guilty of sexual intercourse- lash each one of them with a hundred lashes, and do not be taken by pity for them in the religion of Allah, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a group of the believers witness their punishment “.
Or even Surah An-Nur (24:30-31)
“(30) Tell the believing men to reduce (some) of their vision and guard their private parts. This is purer for them. Indeed, Appah is acquainted with what they do.
(31) And tell the believing women to reduce (some) of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which (necessarily appears thereof…”
Long story short๐, whether you choose to practice premarital sec or fornication, there’s still a punishment so long as you’re found guilty. There won’t be pity upon you just as a Christian going against the book of 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5
“It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality, that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God.” Check out also, Ephesians 5:3
“But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity or of greed, cause these are improper for God’s holy people”
*clears throat*
Whatever you term it, be it fornication or premarital sex… or we even come up up with some other word to differ from masturbation, the Bible tells us to not have even a HINT of sexual immorality in us.
This post is not to just condemn sexual immorality but also make us see that there is nothing as whatever anyone is saying trying to differentiate anything from the other. Premarital sex is fornication and vice versa, and to avoid punishment from our creator, we should flee from any form of sexual immorality in general.
