The Burden Of A Purposeful Life

Whatever kind of “nice” person you meet who’s going to tell you not to feel like a burden, you should always be reminded that you still are a burden, a burden to yourself. No matter how rich or poor, young or old that you are, you are always more of a burden of a burden to yourself; especially if you want a purposeful life.

Every human has a burden that bothers him and these burdens could come in the form of death, loss, illness, worry, trauma, finances, marital tension e.t.c. While a billionaire could be burdened with illnesses plus financial downfall, a student could be burdened with academic comeback plus financial tension.

How possibly can these burdens be beaten?

● Understanding Purpose: to embrace a purposeful life, one should figure out the consent of purpose; reason being that purpose is the driving force that directs a person. Purpose is basically the combination of one’s talents, passions and impact we intend to make in the immediate world around us. And you know the interesting thing? Every person has his own unique purpose.

● Identifying passions: you could figure this out from your hobbies, or basically anything you could pass a good amount of time with. I remember introducing the DKD formula in one of my articles. This formula is of good aid to identify your passions.

I’ll also remember a lecturer of mine who would always ring it to his students that “the best thing that could happen to a young person is to start early”… and I don’t know but I will always go by this.

When we identify our passion, it could help align our lives with things that truly matter.

● Setting realistic goals: by taking this action, you should also not forget to face your fears while working relentlessly to achieve this purpose. Whatever purpose it is, remember to set your goals in such a way that you surpass your previous goals.

● Overcoming challenges: of course you can not run the race of life without a challenge or the other; and if we would want to look at this from the bright side, we will see that challenges are actually there to nurture us and make us grow.

These burdens of life can be seen as our life challenges and overcoming them is what will shape us and make us achieve our purpose in life.

● Make a positive impact: wherever you find yourself, always try to make an impact in a life of two. You just can’t keep your values to yourself after achieving your purpose. What then was the purpose of beating down those burdens?

We should try as humans to follow the above steps so as to beat the burden of this purposeful life we all are in a race to achieve.
