LOVE- AN EMOTION OR AN ACTION
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son… You will agree with me that love is sacrifice and it is this sacrifice which makes up love is what often makes us mistake love as an action instead of an emotion that it is.
In this piece, you’re free to picture whatever kind of love it is that comes to your mind and tell me if it does not reasonable with what you will read below. I would be using God’s love and a mother’s love for my evaluation.
To understand this piece, I would want us to take note of these two points:
● Love itself is one thing, while the act(s) of love is another: It is very different to “be loved” and to “be loved BECAUSE…”. It is why the only love that can be compared to God’s love is a mother’s love. A mother would never spare her last money to her child because her child has cute eyes; neither will God spare your life in accident because He wants to see if you will tell everyone about the love He has for you. You see, love is that one emotion that cannot be fully explained because everyone has their own version of it.
God would not give you a ground breaking testimony BECAUSE you deserve it or BECAUSE you have suffered enough. He would grant you that testimony for the simple reason that it is your time.
Neither would a mother hen not leave her chick to a hawk BECAUSE the chick has not lived long enough to die yet but for the fact that the motherly love imbedded in her would not let her do such (she running away to save her own life).
Before we continue, I would want us to drop 2-3 acts of love God has done for us or that which you have witnessed a mother do. If you critically look at those act you thought of, you will see that it is just your comprehension of love that made you see love as an act of love.
NB: an act of love is always done for a reason and that is why the only route out of a “mum, who’s your favorite child?” trap is always “I love all my children equally”.
● It is the emotion that prompts the action:Look at it from any point of view and you will end up seeing that it is the motherly love (emotion) your mother has for you that pushed her to taking off her coat for you just so you could still stay warm (action)
It is the love (emotion) that God has for you and I that made Him come to the conclusion of SACRIFICING His only begotten son for you and I’s redemption
I would be open to your opinion in the comment section

Nahhh this is so good 💕. I think we mistake love a lot. And you’re spot on, sacrifice na the real love

ReplyDeletesacrifice>>>love ❤️❤️
ReplyDelete60% of the men we have or that you know
ReplyDeleteThis correct don’t under estimate father’s love
ReplyDeleteThis makes so much sense.
ReplyDeletewe have
ReplyDeleteKey point: it is the emotion that prompts the action
ReplyDeleteMy favorite line: Love itself is one thing, while the act of love is another
You can’t say that you love someone and not show some emotions.….
And I feel there’s a little bit of partiality o
When you said that is why the only love that can be compared to God’s love is mother’s love
I think Stanley said something about that
Let’s not even talk about the father’s love now what about siblings
Let’s say for example
In a family where the presence of a mother is absent and even the father is no more and two siblings are left alone to take care of eachother
I feel that is another kind of love that can be compared to God’s love cuz they make sure they look out for each other care for each other knowing fully well that they have no one but themselves 🤝
My own point of view 🥲
Love 😌
