STILL BECOMING

To the one person that made my 19th year a memorable one, David Adedolapo Obadiah, I love you so much. If I took nothing out of my 19th year, at least I know not to “settle” anymore, and self discovery is not an action or a process. It is a constant cycle/struggle/growth that takes place at certain intervals in life; and this brings me to dropping this bombshell¡ Until January 17th 2027, my blog would be shut down. I wrote for free for over 3 years and now, I have thought to rebrand ’Style De Vie blog’, maybe with a different name, maybe with a different logo, but definitely an entirely different website!๐Ÿ˜Š But in the meantime, while cooking, I will be closing contracts and landing clients in the writing field. I am still a writer, a full time freelance content writer who is also into social media management (still cooking up more skills for my readers๐Ÿ˜ฝ).  So, please, if you are looking for any type of writer, or a social media manager, I’m very much available and would lov...

THE HIDDEN EPIDEMIC

Image
I wouldn't say imagine but think rather of a person (not just a person but people) living with the possibility of experiencing a crisis at the slightest change in the weather or environment; people whose lifespan expectancy IS MEANT to be shorter by two to three decades than a human's lifespan, people whose life is a roller coaster of pains you don't even know exist, people who experience either the veno occlusive crisis, the aplastic crisis, the hyperhermolytic crisis, or the sequestration crisis Or A guy who wouldn't wish to be sexually active for the reason of getting a painful erection. Think also of a lady missing out on fun stuff to do for the fact she could get a dull or throbbing or stabbing, sharp pain that comes out of nowhere in the cause of just living like a human should. They survive basically on drugs.  This set of persons or people rather are the sickle cell patients around us. Think of a lot of things such people would find difficult to get or do; almos...

SUICIDAL ELIMINATION

I happen to be a person who can't comprehend suicide. That a person has the guts to not only get the thought of it but also act upon the thought overwhelms me and it is why I would always try to make people understand that there is a huge difference between mere sadness and depression... reference to my "you are not depressed, you are just sad" post. I'd say depression is a very severe form of sadness caused by a lot of *REAL LIFE* happenings to a person.  You see, a person thinking of suicide and acting upon it wouldn't or doesn't rather, wish to die. They look for a way to escape the unbearable pain and suffering they go through and in the absence of any, they find death as the ONLY escape route. Deep down, there is always the wish for another alternative but then, studies show that hopelessness is a very strong predictor of suicide.  In a situation where I'm in a race and suddenly experience muscle fatigue for a few seconds, I have two options on my min...

YOUR PRIME THOUGH, NOT MINE

YOUR PRIME THOUGH, NOT MINE So what if I'm here on this piece to counter the Greek philosophers who said "Youth is the seed of life and the seed must be sown with care"? ๐ŸŒ. Yes, you read that right, although, my focus is going to be on the former part of the quote.  I believe one's teen years should be put first before the youth days. You see, many a lot of us 14-19-year-olds should get it stuck in our heads that we are not "enjoying our youth" now ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐ŸŒ❤‍๐Ÿฉน. It's entirely different to gradually lose your value (even as a guy) and people not seeing your value, not to them but to yourself.  You really can't be faster than your shadow and although the world we find ourselves in right now has normalized a lot of abnormalities, we've really got ourselves to blame for whatever mistake we make. Reason being that you've always got a choice, really.  "You really can't be forced to do what you don't want to do. You have a choice to say ...

UNDERSTANDING EQUALS WHAT?

UNDERSTANDING EQUALS WHAT? Wisdom, knowledge and understanding we all ask for but are we really aware of what we seek? And when we get it, are we aware of what we’ve gotten?... Let’s look at this in a way simpler form. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘   ♧ Knowledge=> The Flour ♧ Understanding=> ? ♧ Wisdom=> The Bread   If knowledge is the flour, wisdom actually has to be the bread, but then, what do we have to call understanding? Let’s look at these instances: You get to meet a person, make friends with this person but still on acquaintance, now that’s knowledge. At this stage, you’re only knowledgeable about this person and know nothing else. You make efforts to knowing this person better than you do at the moment in forms of test, paying close attention to words and actions from this person. You come to the realization of the good and bad sides of this friend of yours and figure out the best way to reserve this friend, putting our human sides aside. This is you trying to make t...

The net vs the mental health

The net vs the mental health You see, the mind, actually, is the head of the body, just that it is not physical and thankfully it is not๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ‘ The brain is just an organ that helps us decipher this ๐Ÿซณ from that ๐Ÿซดbut the mind, it is that which will tell you what to do. Just here will we ask ourselves; "Is my mind my conscience?" We were going to talk about our mental health and the net (social media), don't forget ๐Ÿ˜‰ Now, our brain, mind and mental health are all interconnected and it would be incomplete treating this topic without them all. Let's start off with understanding the connection between these 3. As earlier stated, the brain is just an organ that helps we humans decipher this ๐Ÿซณ from that ๐Ÿซด. It is this human intelligence that makes humans superior to animals- note that๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘ The mind is the not-so-physical structure of the brain embedded in we humans. By not-so-physical, I mean your mind is that whatever ๐Ÿ˜‚ that tells you what to do even after your brain has...

18 EPISODES OF LITTLE IFY๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’•

   1. So I'm actually one of these people who can come out to say "I have a scar". And truly, "I have a scar guys!!!" ๐Ÿ˜ญSo there was this girl I used to call my cousin back then. She had this plan to take my lips, not my life (thank God)... because what do you mean to tell me you carried me on your back without tying me to it and then we start spinning. Funny how we enjoyed the feeling so much, we didn't even realize when I was slipping from her back and next thing is "Gbim". I can say I blacked out because I do not remember nothing else except my stitched lips๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’”So whenever you get to meet Ify, look closely at her lips... She's got a scar there๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘ 2. My privacy has to come next after my peace and I think this has been with me since I was little ๐Ÿ™ƒ. So there happened to be this very fateful day I locked myself in the guest room. To do what? I really can't tell, I promise๐Ÿ˜‚. But then just for me to finally leave the room, the key won...

Decisions, decisions

In the bid to make any decision at all, there appears to be indecision and wrong decisions. You see, life is a game. We play it till we're out of time. Life wins all the time, sadly. It leads every living thing 1-0 ๐Ÿฅฒ๐ŸคŒ. But while still active and agile in this game called LIFE, we push our way through with decision making, and these decisions are what keep us going in the game; whether going forward (right decisions), being stagnant (indecision), or going backwards (wrong decisions).   We're all humans, and making wrong decisions sometimes shouldn't be something to keep us down for so long. It leads to stagnation, and stagnation is what we should avoid at all costs as humans.   Back to decisions!    We'll be looking at the advantages of wrong decisions over indecision. A close look at this, and we'll see that making wrong decisions actually pays off more than indecision. Yes, wrong decisions => regrets, but then it's up to you to make up for your regret...
