STILL BECOMING

  To the one person that made my 19th year a memorable one, David Adedolapo Obadiah, I love you so much. If I took nothing out of my 19th year, at least I know not to “settle” anymore, and self discovery is not an action or a process. It is a constant cycle/struggle/growth that takes place at certain intervals in life; and this brings me to dropping this bombshell¡ Until January 17th 2027, my blog would be shut down. I wrote for free for over 3 years and now, I have thought to rebrand ’Style De Vie blog’, maybe with a different name, maybe with a different logo, but definitely an entirely different website!😊 But in the meantime, while cooking, I will be closing contracts and landing clients in the writing field.   • “I won’t beat you, just tell me the truth”- coming from the same person who taught me that the truth shall set me free!!!😭

  • “Love wasn’t girls landing in the hospital after a breakup, love was me loosing my mind in the hospital after loosing my husband”- coming from a millennial mother wanting to hop on a Gen Z TikTok trend😇❤️

  • “Oya don’t worry, I will cook my food myself”- coming from this woman who came to intrude in the kitchen after telling me to prepare dinner 🤦‍♀️

  • “Very good!”… and she proceeds to adjust her wrapper and looks away- coming from the mother who’s meant to share in my pain after I fall 🥲

  •  “Every time, phone, phone, phone, that’s why you’re always sick”- coming from someone who’s meant to rush me down to the hospital rather than complaining 😑

  •  “Must you go and see your friend? Can’t your friend come and see you?”- coming from a millennial mum who wants no visitor in her house😒

  • “You think you’re doing me? You’re doing yourself”- the usual anthem whenever the smallest mistake is made in the house 🙂

  •  “My own mother didn’t die because of me so I won’t die because of any of you- another anthem in the house when mummy Ify is getting fed up with the kids😗

  •  “Ummm, is this scarf nice?” “ No mumny, no need for a scarf” “Why?! I’ll tie it like that, it’s fine”- coming from someone who tells me I don’t know fashion 😏

  • “My dear, you see this my own children…” and she goes ahead to exaggerate what you did and didn’t even do- someone who tells me to stop talking too much😾
