STILL BECOMING

To the one person that made my 19th year a memorable one, David Adedolapo Obadiah, I love you so much. If I took nothing out of my 19th year, at least I know not to “settle” anymore, and self discovery is not an action or a process. It is a constant cycle/struggle/growth that takes place at certain intervals in life; and this brings me to dropping this bombshell¡ Until January 17th 2027, my blog would be shut down. I wrote for free for over 3 years and now, I have thought to rebrand ’Style De Vie blog’, maybe with a different name, maybe with a different logo, but definitely an entirely different website!😊 But in the meantime, while cooking, I will be closing contracts and landing clients in the writing field. I am still a writer, a full time freelance content writer who is also into social media management (still cooking up more skills for my readers😽).  So, please, if you are looking for any type of writer, or a social media manager, I’m very much available and would lov...

THE FATHER GAP

8 out of 10 people I meet have daddy issues. At first, I thought I was attracting them because I had also lost my own dad; but getting a clearer and better understanding of life, making researches and all, I discovered and keep on wondering what went wrong with millenial fathers???

They said June is men’s mental health month… but how about we let these men know and understand how they’ve cost almost everyone their mental health (not only women, but also their children… their male children especially). This hurt cost more than a lot of emotional and psychological trauma, which leads to an inability to move on or outgrow certain circumstances/situations, which further leads to an extension/transfer to the next generation.

In this part of the world, we see it as one of the ways our village people have gotten to us… whole time, it’s just a repeated pattern.

And the good fathers? Definitely will be appreciated because they leave just that tiny little hope in us that our kids will not suffer the trauma majority of the Gen Z’s suffered in the name of training, discipline or whatever it was called.

And I’d always say this, that the Gen-Z happens to be the first generation to become woke at such an early stage and it’ll be not only a disgrace but also a failure on our parts if we choose to imitate those patterns that should have stopped at our parents.

Happy Father’s Day only to the good fathers out there (if your child doesn’t recognize you as a father, then you’re not doing it right, full stop)

  1. Reading this made me reflect.....Many people carry wounds from their relationship with their fathers while others have been blessed with loving and supportive dads....I believe our generation has an opportunity to learn, heal and build healthier relationships so that the next generation experiences something better
Happy Father's Day to every father striving to be present and intentional ❤️

  2. I hope we all learn and unlearn certain attributes to become better fathers and parents in general. For the sake of our kids and the betterment of society at large.
