STILL BECOMING

To the one person that made my 19th year a memorable one, David Adedolapo Obadiah, I love you so much. If I took nothing out of my 19th year, at least I know not to “settle” anymore, and self discovery is not an action or a process. It is a constant cycle/struggle/growth that takes place at certain intervals in life; and this brings me to dropping this bombshell¡ Until January 17th 2027, my blog would be shut down. I wrote for free for over 3 years and now, I have thought to rebrand ’Style De Vie blog’, maybe with a different name, maybe with a different logo, but definitely an entirely different website!😊 But in the meantime, while cooking, I will be closing contracts and landing clients in the writing field. I am still a writer, a full time freelance content writer who is also into social media management (still cooking up more skills for my readers😽).  So, please, if you are looking for any type of writer, or a social media manager, I’m very much available and would lov...

UNDERSTANDING EQUALS WHAT?

UNDERSTANDING EQUALS WHAT? Wisdom, knowledge and understanding we all ask for but are we really aware of what we seek? And when we get it, are we aware of what we’ve gotten?... Let’s look at this in a way simpler form. 😉👍   ♧ Knowledge=> The Flour ♧ Understanding=> ? ♧ Wisdom=> The Bread   If knowledge is the flour, wisdom actually has to be the bread, but then, what do we have to call understanding? Let’s look at these instances: You get to meet a person, make friends with this person but still on acquaintance, now that’s knowledge. At this stage, you’re only knowledgeable about this person and know nothing else. You make efforts to knowing this person better than you do at the moment in forms of test, paying close attention to words and actions from this person. You come to the realization of the good and bad sides of this friend of yours and figure out the best way to reserve this friend, putting our human sides aside. This is you trying to make t...

The net vs the mental health

The net vs the mental health You see, the mind, actually, is the head of the body, just that it is not physical and thankfully it is not😅👍 The brain is just an organ that helps us decipher this 🫳 from that 🫴but the mind, it is that which will tell you what to do. Just here will we ask ourselves; "Is my mind my conscience?" We were going to talk about our mental health and the net (social media), don't forget 😉 Now, our brain, mind and mental health are all interconnected and it would be incomplete treating this topic without them all. Let's start off with understanding the connection between these 3. As earlier stated, the brain is just an organ that helps we humans decipher this 🫳 from that 🫴. It is this human intelligence that makes humans superior to animals- note that🙂👍 The mind is the not-so-physical structure of the brain embedded in we humans. By not-so-physical, I mean your mind is that whatever 😂 that tells you what to do even after your brain has...

18 EPISODES OF LITTLE IFY😂😭💕

   1. So I'm actually one of these people who can come out to say "I have a scar". And truly, "I have a scar guys!!!" 😭So there was this girl I used to call my cousin back then. She had this plan to take my lips, not my life (thank God)... because what do you mean to tell me you carried me on your back without tying me to it and then we start spinning. Funny how we enjoyed the feeling so much, we didn't even realize when I was slipping from her back and next thing is "Gbim". I can say I blacked out because I do not remember nothing else except my stitched lips😭💔So whenever you get to meet Ify, look closely at her lips... She's got a scar there😭😂👍 2. My privacy has to come next after my peace and I think this has been with me since I was little 🙃. So there happened to be this very fateful day I locked myself in the guest room. To do what? I really can't tell, I promise😂. But then just for me to finally leave the room, the key won...

Decisions, decisions

In the bid to make any decision at all, there appears to be indecision and wrong decisions. You see, life is a game. We play it till we're out of time. Life wins all the time, sadly. It leads every living thing 1-0 🥲🤌. But while still active and agile in this game called LIFE, we push our way through with decision making, and these decisions are what keep us going in the game; whether going forward (right decisions), being stagnant (indecision), or going backwards (wrong decisions).   We're all humans, and making wrong decisions sometimes shouldn't be something to keep us down for so long. It leads to stagnation, and stagnation is what we should avoid at all costs as humans.   Back to decisions!    We'll be looking at the advantages of wrong decisions over indecision. A close look at this, and we'll see that making wrong decisions actually pays off more than indecision. Yes, wrong decisions => regrets, but then it's up to you to make up for your regret...

TICK TOCK...

Time is running, time is expensive, time is fast and time is slow, time is precious, time is everything, time is life, and life is time. We all have our various definitions of time or how we perceive it. From my perspective, I see time as the expression that says, "You can't have your cake and eat it too." Once in a while, you might be able to eat your cake and still have some left, but when it comes to time, it is that cake you can never eat and have back. The seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, or even decades you spend reading this piece can never be regained (although it might fetch you some vital information😉).   Studying time to fully understand it is a complex endeavor. Time existed when God began to exist. The same way it is challenging to fully understand God's beginning, it is equally difficult to comprehend time. Of course, God existed before time, but "before" is an adverb related to time. God and time are very closely related. ...

Dear Men, Chill!

I'll try my best not to sound like a Gen Z here😅. Not just true is it but also quite sad that men are loved conditionally. Especially as the world is going now, if as a man you do not provide adequately for the people you're to provide for, lol, it's a big wahala for you. A man could appear to be all loving to his wife, children and even his pet dog but the love reciprocated is often tied to the condition of provision.  Mind you, the provision could come in different forms but we'll be discussing a very few of them here. We all must have, at one point or the other, heard of or seen wives or children being disrespectful to the man of the house due to failed responsibility of provision (be it his fault or not😔🫶).  A man's conditional reciprocated love is usually based on majorly these 3 factors: 1. Provision : No doubt, men are seen and expected to be the breadwinner of their families, extended families included. As a man, you'd have said to yourself or made i...

You 100, Laziness 0

Okay so laziness happens to be one thing almost everyone must have experienced at one point or the other. While it could be a swing of mood for some, it could be a lifestyle for others. Laziness in my point of view could be seen as a feeling of reluctant or decreased motivation to getting something done.  Whatever it could be, be it tedious or not, once laziness creeps in, it's usually due to a lack of motivation. Mind you, we could mistake laziness for something else as...maybe a brain fog🤷‍♀️ or even tiredness/fatigue😴; and that is why I stated earlier that it would be out of a mood swing. Of course, it's okay to feel lazy sometimes but we shouldn't forget to always take note of ourselves to realize when laziness is turning out to be a habit for us.  Laziness helps with nothing really, well, unless it creeps in at the right time🫵😉 but just to serve as a break from a tedious activity😗.  Growing up in a Nigerian home to be called lazy was or is rather, something I'...
