STILL BECOMING

To the one person that made my 19th year a memorable one, David Adedolapo Obadiah, I love you so much. If I took nothing out of my 19th year, at least I know not to “settle” anymore, and self discovery is not an action or a process. It is a constant cycle/struggle/growth that takes place at certain intervals in life; and this brings me to dropping this bombshell¡ Until January 17th 2027, my blog would be shut down. I wrote for free for over 3 years and now, I have thought to rebrand ’Style De Vie blog’, maybe with a different name, maybe with a different logo, but definitely an entirely different website!😊 But in the meantime, while cooking, I will be closing contracts and landing clients in the writing field. I am still a writer, a full time freelance content writer who is also into social media management (still cooking up more skills for my readers😽).  So, please, if you are looking for any type of writer, or a social media manager, I’m very much available and would lov...

I'm a woman and I'm human

Image
Call this feminism, I do not care, but let it be known that “to every supremacy and authority of a man, there should be a limit” . When I say I seek equal rights with a man, I do not mean struggling to take the position of a man. I’m simply seeking to be treated like a human. Women are human also! Personally, I feel there are certain cultures and by culture, I mean archaic habits of our forefathers that should have been dropped by now, in this age because the world is evolving and soonest, it would seize to evolve just around men.  The fact you can walk into a space or room but I can’t simply because I’m a woman, is insane, isn’t it? But you letting me know I won’t be able to go into that same space because I’m not strong enough to overcome the obstacles in it is enough reason for me to withdraw.  Look here, when Jesus told wives to submit to their husbands, he also yolks the husbands to love their wives just as he loves the church. Now, you can’t tell me you love me but beat ...

PÈRES ABSENTS.

Image
Having an absent father at age 15, I really wonder if it’s what makes every 3 out of 5 people I meet have absent fathers as well. I mean, I grew up with some but I guess the rate just increased over time😅. You see, many a times,  men or males rather tend to complain when mothers get to be celebrated on Fathers’ Day too but then I’ll always say that if a mother plays the role of a father perfectly well, then why don’t I celebrate her on Fathers’ Day as well? One thing we don’t see is the strength in single mothers and those ones out of circumstance especially, appear to be the strongest set of people on earth today *references to my super mum* 🫶 Absent fathers could be in various forms but I’d be addressing the 4 categories I’ve come across. The first and most accepted category of absent fathers is: l  The absent father who is absent (…more like an absent but present father 🌝 😉): I see this as that which the father is physically absent and the only ground should be death (d...

Premarital Sex

Image
PRE MARITAL SEX✅ FORNICATION❌ Quite a long while ago, I bumped into a post trying to differentiate fornication and pre marital sex😂 It said:  “The Bible said fornication is a sin not premarital sex” He went ahead to break it down for us saying: “Fornication is sleeping around especially with random people. Premarital sex can be with only that one partner you love and cherish. The absence of a signed certificate doesn’t make it a sin”  I couldn’t help laughing while putting this down😂. Now😂, whatever it is this person was trying to denote is nothing but wrong; not only grammatically but also religiously or should I say spiritually. While some people would agree to this, I wouldn’t because this is not only a grammatical wrong take but also a spiritual wrong mindset (and I do not stand to be corrected). Let’s look at it grammatically:  Of all sources that I made my reasearch, the only difference I could tell between fornication and premarital sex is that while the ...

Very small minds- Ben Carson

Image
Of the 271 pages of Ben Carson’s The Big Picture novel, pages 197 and 198 got my attention the most (probably because of the stage of my life I’m in at the moment 🌝🤷‍♀️).            “When I encounter individuals who        focus most of their attention on skin color, whether their own or somebody else’s, I am reminded of red ants and black ants. You could invite both groups to the greatest picnic in the world with more sandwich and potato crumbs than they could carry off in a million years. But once they saw each other, they could not care less about what brought them there. They would soon be fighting each other to the death.           Talk about the limitations of small minds. And yet so many human beings, despite having brains far weightier than whole colonies of ants, so often succumb to the same silliness. Still, the fruit of racism is so horrible that calling it “silliness” hardly seems a strong enough co...

THE HIDDEN EPIDEMIC

Image
I wouldn't say imagine but think rather of a person (not just a person but people) living with the possibility of experiencing a crisis at the slightest change in the weather or environment; people whose lifespan expectancy IS MEANT to be shorter by two to three decades than a human's lifespan, people whose life is a roller coaster of pains you don't even know exist, people who experience either the veno occlusive crisis, the aplastic crisis, the hyperhermolytic crisis, or the sequestration crisis Or A guy who wouldn't wish to be sexually active for the reason of getting a painful erection. Think also of a lady missing out on fun stuff to do for the fact she could get a dull or throbbing or stabbing, sharp pain that comes out of nowhere in the cause of just living like a human should. They survive basically on drugs.  This set of persons or people rather are the sickle cell patients around us. Think of a lot of things such people would find difficult to get or do; almos...

SUICIDAL ELIMINATION

I happen to be a person who can't comprehend suicide. That a person has the guts to not only get the thought of it but also act upon the thought overwhelms me and it is why I would always try to make people understand that there is a huge difference between mere sadness and depression... reference to my "you are not depressed, you are just sad" post. I'd say depression is a very severe form of sadness caused by a lot of *REAL LIFE* happenings to a person.  You see, a person thinking of suicide and acting upon it wouldn't or doesn't rather, wish to die. They look for a way to escape the unbearable pain and suffering they go through and in the absence of any, they find death as the ONLY escape route. Deep down, there is always the wish for another alternative but then, studies show that hopelessness is a very strong predictor of suicide.  In a situation where I'm in a race and suddenly experience muscle fatigue for a few seconds, I have two options on my min...

YOUR PRIME THOUGH, NOT MINE

YOUR PRIME THOUGH, NOT MINE So what if I'm here on this piece to counter the Greek philosophers who said "Youth is the seed of life and the seed must be sown with care"? 🌝. Yes, you read that right, although, my focus is going to be on the former part of the quote.  I believe one's teen years should be put first before the youth days. You see, many a lot of us 14-19-year-olds should get it stuck in our heads that we are not "enjoying our youth" now 😭🌝❤‍🩹. It's entirely different to gradually lose your value (even as a guy) and people not seeing your value, not to them but to yourself.  You really can't be faster than your shadow and although the world we find ourselves in right now has normalized a lot of abnormalities, we've really got ourselves to blame for whatever mistake we make. Reason being that you've always got a choice, really.  "You really can't be forced to do what you don't want to do. You have a choice to say ...
